Ironically, Richir's recent tweet vilifies the very people he's been aiding since going rogue after being fired by the North Carolina Democratic Party in May 2009. Richir is proof some "democrats" are 'just bad people,' too, by intentionally sabotaging the state party's website functionality and disrupting web traffic.
Richir's illegal actions against the NCDP are presently the subject of litigation between employer and former employee.
Since his firing as Online Communications Director of the North Carolina Democratic Party in May 2009, Richir has disconnected the state party's website from over 60 democratic counties, congressional districts and NCDP auxiliary groups for the past two years -- purely out of revenge. Richir's actions have been kept quiet during litigation but with party officers like Richir, a current State Executive Committee member, who needs enemies?
Beginning in June 2009, Richir illegally rerouted website addresses, transferred control of party web addresses from the party to himself, stole web traffic, broke existing web links and even purchased several other web addresses to withhold them from use by the NCDP. These illegal activities are under investigation for trademark violations, fraud and copyright disputes that will prove criminal intent to do harm. The websites' domain history records show who was the previous owner of the domain and who owned the domain at the time of the infringement. Richir's actions may even include phishing and fraudulent use of private information in addition to "domain parking" to cost the state party valuable time, resources and connectivity usage.
Richir continues to hold onto dozens of web addresses nearly two full years since his firing to disrupt, disconnect and prevented the NCDP from using web addresses it paid for to help democrats connect with local organizations in their county, congressional district and state auxiliaries groups.
Richir's crimes came to light December 21, 2010 when NCDP Executive Director Andrew Whalen responded to questions by a frustrated Harold Hairson, state auxiliary President of the African-American Caucus, during the State Executive Council meeting in Raleigh. Whalen explained the ACCNCDP website was going to have to wait until litigation between Richir and the state party was resolved before Hairstons group could have its own web address back and be reconnected to the state party's website. Today, the AACNCDP link remains broken and non-functioning.
The NCDP website also contains numerous broken links that either: do not connect to any websites, have been rerouted to the wrong page elsewhere on the NCDP website or takes the reader to a "drupal" message screen stating "Site off-line, The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later..."** To view this entire message of the Drupal reroute, view the footnoted content included at the end of this article along with Richir's tweet on the topic of Drupal.
Richir's Unethical Behavior Goes Public.
In May 2009, NCDP's then-Executive Director Andrew Whalen fired Richir from his Online Communications Director position when it was publicly discovered Richir had set up a fake Twitter account purporting to be Republican Paul "Skip" Stam, then-minority leader of the State House. A reporter uncovered a clumsy effort to embarrass Stam and traced the embarrassing and transparent ethics breach to Richir, an NCDP's employee. Richir had "twitterjacked" Stam's identity to publish fake tweets. Here's the twitter conversation between the reporter, Laura Leslie, and Richir before it made news:
LauraLeslie hey, #NCGA - someone who is clearly not House Minority Leader Skip Stam is twitterjacking as "SkipStam." Who is it? Fess up.
Jerimee @LauraLeslie I registered the skipstam account on twitter to hold Stam accountable for his attacks on marginalized people #fessup
LauraLeslie @Jerimee - is twitter impersonation ethical? Your "name" is listed as Paul Stam... #NCGA
Jerimee @LauraLeslie is making that kind of accusation ethical? Nobody is impersonating Stam. I'll change the name now.
LauraLeslie @Jerimee yes, I believe it is ethical to ask that question. Who wouldn't?
Leslie ran the story (view here, and here). Stam did interviews calling Richir's creation of a false twitter account in others' names is "unacceptable," calling it "dirty tricks" and called for the immediate firing of Richir. The story made the news that Richir's unethical behavior and sheer stupidity was hurting the state party's credibility and calling its ethics into question. Richir had finally gone too far and Whalen canned him immediately. Richir was clearly upset, posting this odd tweet topic before news went public of his dismissal, a topic he has't posted before or since. Richir was in a sad place.
Jerimee @LauraLeslie The question assumes guilt - @skipstam 's tweets are clearly not from Stam - they refer to him in 3rd person
However, sadness apparently turned into anger and Richir formulated a plan of attack on his former employer. First, Richir posted an announcement on BlueNC.com the very next day, June 1, 2009 and spinning his "exit" as a contrite ex-employee who wished the state party well but never acknowledged he was fired nor did he apologize for his unethical behavior. Instead, Richir claimed he would now be free to do thin couldn't gs he do while employed at the NCDP.

"I want to do as much of this work as I can, and I feel I can more aggressively pursue change outside the Goodwin House than inside. I'm taking a gamble in hopes of finding a better point of leverage to secure reform," Richir wrote. But the very next day, Richir was posting angry tweets trying to justify his actions and refusing to acknowledge his fault in the matter.
Richir Crossed Line from Democrat to DINO.
Prior to his firing, Richir was the NCDP's online communications director and set up web addresses connecting the state party's www.ncdp.org website to other entities such as county party websites, state auxiliary clubs and email addresses of party officers.
Prior to his firing, Richir was the NCDP's online communications director and set up web addresses connecting the state party's www.ncdp.org website to other entities such as county party websites, state auxiliary clubs and email addresses of party officers.
It was Richir's job to make sure these "link's functioned and connected properly. But within a week of his BlueNC "exit" commentary, Richir began amassing dozens of web addresses owned by the state party. Note the June 2009 dates listed through out the long list of 68 websites Richir had purchased after he left the state party; for example on June 8, 2009, Richir took control of AACNCDP's web address and Onslowdemocrats.org just to name a couple.
Richir took advantage of his security access to the party's web address logs of "URLs" accounts after he was fired from his position as the online communications director. Richir then illegally and quietly transferred ownership and administrator rights to the more than 60 URL addresses used by the state party. Richir's intent was clear. He broke dozens of website links and wreaked havoc throughout the NCDP website. Website visitors could no longer connect to key information about the state party's auxiliaries, congressional districts information and county parties. The state party no longer controlled the content of these web pages and was forced to take some off-line for the time being.
Readers here can verify the broken links on the NCDP website by visiting the county parties list and its congressional districts list and clicking on links shown there. A sample list of these broken links are included further below in this article that includes information of ownership and administration rights Richir took over after his firing.
We tracked down Richir's crimes and verified ownership changes across dozens of broken and nonfunctioning website addresses through the domain identifier website, Whois.com. There, we found evidence proving Richir covertly changed ownership and administraitor rights from the state's democratic party to himself.
It is easy to verify for yourself. Just go to the whois website, type in the web address and watch. You'll see the name "Jerimee Richir" pops up and is listed as the owner and administrator of the state party's numerous web addresses!
We've included a sampling of several websites Richir took over after he was fired and still controls today. Because of Richir's illegal actions, these and other party entities can not use their web address to connect to the NCDP website. Irony of Richir's "Ethics"
The Young Democrats of North Carolina ironically awarded Richir their highest "Volunteer Award" just two months before Richir was fired in 2009. Tony McEwen, the former state chair of the Young Democrats and Third Vice Chair of the state party, was made aware of Richir's illegal activities and it soured any relationship with Richir -- so much so, that Richir continues to lash out at the YDNC via twitter.
In similar breaches of unethical behavior prior to his 2009 firing, Richir abused his NCDP position as the online communications director to exploit his access to the BlueNC.org website. Richir was able to track and identify democrats who disagreed with Progressive Democrats' stands or took issue with state and county party politicking. Richir violated the BlueNC privacy policy by exposing the true identities of BlueNC members who posted dissenting commentaries.
Richir effectively identified and "outed" people by tracing their IP address on BlueNC and cross-referenced them with the IP addresses of democrats who had set up an account on the state party website. This information was shared within certain circles inside BlueNC and NCDP to harass democrats who didn't walk in lock-step or preach the party line of Richir's boss, then-state party chair Jerry Meek or ban them from BlueNC.
Ironically Richir objects when someone else does it.
Richir recently tweeted an accusation against Civitas for "hijacking" another's name that ironically calls to mind the same "twitterjacking" actions Richir pulled on the Rep. Stam less than two years ago.
In the meantime, let Richir know he needs to grow up and release the website addresses that belong to the NCDP. You can contact Richir directly at 919-395-1794, the phone number he listed among the numerous domain registration information. Lastly, let BlueNC blog moderator James Protzman know its time to find a new online consultant for BlueNC.org unless he likes working with Richir, a poor excuse for a democrat who is still sabotaging the NCDP -- only no longer secretly.

Richir should be petitioned for removal as an SEC member and party officer. Lets hope Wake County democrats don't make the mistake of electing Richir back to the SEC committee at the April convention.
