FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the purpose of NCDPpolitics?
A.  To expose the behind-the-scenes deal-making, infighting and general time-wasting, party-defeating behaviors exhibited within the state party leadership for the past few years. We are looking forward to a brand new outlook for the party under its new Chair David Parker elected January 29, 2011

Q. Why did NCDPpolitics continue on after the state party officers' elections?
A.  For a comprehensive explanation about why we restructured the blog and continued on after the leadership elections, review the announcement and rationale published Feb. 1st, 2011.

Q. Why do you post information anonymously?
A. Our identities do not change the facts we post. Providing our identities will accomplish several negative outcomes: we will cease to have access to confidential information, we will be personally maligned and our credibility as democrats will be attacked. It is the standard tactic applied for centuries: if you don't like the message, kill the messenger.  Again, our identities do not alter the truth presented in anyway.

Q. What motivates you to write this blog?
A. To shed light on the problems inside our party and to fix them. Party infighting and democrat-on-democrat warfare helps the GOP to beat us. We need to recognize there exists democrats who are more interested in their own personal gain and indirectly or directly distract us from our mission to get democrats elected. This must stop.  Misbehavior by party officers will not be tolerated.

Q. Do you have issues with Jerry Meek?
A. Yes.  While Jerry has done some fine fundraising and organizing during his terms as chair, his most recent actions based on political payback and personal grudges are harmful to the party's ability to elect the best leaders inside and out of the party. Jerry's personal issues should not interfere with our mission to get democrats elected across North Carolina.  His last effort backing David Young for chair left the party in serious disarray. His arbitrary decisions in several matters have left a significant portion of the party's rank and file members distrustful of party leaders and how it chooses to operate.

Q. Do you have issues with chair candidate Bill Faison?
A. Yes.  Bill's party leadership skills are unknown. Having never worked for the party outside of serving in public office, Bill's motivation to run for the party's top office does not make sense nor is it deserved or earned.  We question his sudden interest in leading the party as a sitting legislator. His negative campaigning against David Parker through baseless allegations concerned us enough to delve into his own record and "image" claims. What we learned is very different from what Bill presents about himself and uses carefully-chosen words that mislead intentionally.

Q. Do you support David Parker?
A. Yes. We can not find any negative information on David given his apparently well-deserved reputation as a good man and great attorney. We have received numerous comments on several candidates both good and bad with the exception of David Parker. The input is purely positive to date. We can't help but like the guy.

Q. Aren't you afraid the GOP will use this information against our party?
A. Not at all. We have had moles in our party. Not intentional moles but those who become exasperated or angry with the party's internal politics and leave. Often they stay Democrats but several have left to become Independents or even Republicans. The disgruntled will talk. The fact we have yet to receive one single retraction is because the information in our blog is true and well-known to certain circles.
